Birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, Eid, Muharram
Nankana DCO assures foolproof security

NANKANA SAHIB: DCO Muhammad Hassan Iqbal has assured that foolproof security arrangements will be made for the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak, Eidul Azha and Muharram.
He was addressing a meeting of the Inter-Faith Harmony Committee at Officers Club here on Thursday. He said that cooperation of masses, religious leaders and public representatives was vital for peace in the district.
DPO Dr Masroor Alam said that it was responsibility of every citizen to cooperate with the law-enforcement agencies to maintain law and order. “We will eliminate terrorism and sectarianism through joint efforts,” he said.
Ahle Sunnat district president Allama Mohibul Nabi Tahir, Ahle Hadith ameer Muhammad Tariq Zia, Anjuman-e-Jafferia president Zahid Hussain, Wiston Church Pastor William Kayian and representatives of the Sikh community, EDO Revenue Sheikh Khalid Mehmood, DDO Revenue Amina Munir, Sangla DDO Revenue Mian Tariq Mehmood and TO Revenue Muhammad Ashraf were also present.
7 INJURED ON ROAD: Seven people, including a woman and her daughter, were injured in two incidents here.
Sadia Bibi, her daughter Shahida, Nasrin Bibi, Irshad Bibi, Shazia and Muhammad Ashraf were injured in a collision between a van and a rickshaw near Zafarwal village. In the second incident, 19-year-old Zaheer Ahmed was going on a motorcycle when a speeding car hit him near Youjsinabad. As a result, he was seriously injured and taken to a hospital.
RESCUE 1122 WORKSHOP: A two-day first-aid workshop was held under the auspices of Rescue 1122 at Government College of Commerce. Students were taught the first-aid techniques.
