No quorum
October 11, 2010
It was interesting to listen to Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, leader of the opposition, berating the government for hurried legislation in the National Assembly. His objection was that the government rushes through with legislating in the house of 342 when only 30 odd members are present. Agreed, this is not the best way to legislate, but the fault lies with Mr Nisar and his party as well. Why don’t they insist on maintaining the quorum in the House comprising 342 seats?
