Accident leaves 4 dead in Malakand

BATKHELA: Four persons were killed and 16 others, including two women, sustained injuries when a speeding passenger coach plunged into a ravine in the mountainous Cherat area on Monday, local sources said.
The sources said that a passenger coach on way to Palai from Thana town fell into a ravine when the driver lost control over the vehicle. Four passengers including Darwesh, Ameer Ghaus and Said Karim were killed on the spot while the identity of the fourth one could not be established.
Local residents retrieved the bodies and shifted the injured to the Batkhela Civil Hospital. The injured included Muhammad Zada, Haseena, Ahmed Zada, Salman, Muhammad Rehman, Sultan-e-Rom, Marwat Zada, Hussan Zarina, Ibrahim, Ikram Khan, Momin Khan, Wali Muhammad, Zarif Khan, Afsar Ali, Amjad Ali and Amirzeb. The sources said three seriously wounded passengers were later shifted to hospitals in Swat and Peshawar.
