Azerbaijan military official calls on CJCSC
ISLAMABAD: Commander Azerbaijan Naval Forces Vice Admiral Shahin Sultanov called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Tariq Majid at the Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala, on Monday. They exchanged views on the regional security situation, bilateral defence cooperation and other matters of professional interest. Admiral Sultanov also offered condolences over the loss of precious lives, expressed solidarity and pledged support from the public and government of Azerbaijan to the flood victims, said a press release. Conveying good wishes for the people and the government of Azerbaijan, General Tariq Majid thanked for the $2 million assistance and goods worth $0.69 million for the flood relief activities.
Gen Tariq Majid makes farewell calls
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Tariq Majid on Monday made farewell calls to officiating Engineer- in-Chief Major General Asif Ali and Surgeon General Lieutenant General Rehan Burney. The CJCSC is due to retire in the first week of October, says an ISPR press release issued here.

Flood victims stage demo in Thatta

THATTA: A large number of flood victims staged a demonstration in front of the Thatta Press Club here on Monday to protest against the delay and difficulties in issuance of the Watan Cards. They accused a NADRA official of demanding bribe for the issuance of cards. They urged higher authorities to take action in this regard.

Two militants killed in Swat

MINGORA: Two militants were killed on Monday in an exchange of fire with security forces in Kund area of Khwazakhela in Swat district, official sources said. The sources said the militants attacked the security personnel while they were conducting a search operation in the area. The militants were identified as Bakhzada and Nowsher and officials said they were wanted to security

Nato tanker attacked in Khuzdar
QUETTA: Unknown armed men on Monday set alight a Nato trailer. According to police sources, the armed men sprinkled petrol on the trailer and set it on fire. Only the rear portion of the trailer was damaged.

Army medics treat three burnt women
QUETTA: The Pakistan Army saved lives of three women who received burnt injuries because of a fire at their house in Dera Murad Jamali on Sunday night. The daughter, wife and mother of Dr Ashok Kumar received burn injuries. They were given first aid by the medical units in a camp established by the Army in Dera Murad Jamali and later in view of their critical condition were referred to the CMH, Quetta.

Four injured in landmine explosion
GHALANAI: Four people, a child among them, were injured as a result of a landmine explosion in Tehsil Khwazai, Mohmand Agency, on Monday, officials said. The volunteers of Khwazai Peace Movement were patrolling in the Kong area when one of them stepped on a landmine, causing a huge explosion. Resultantly, Usman, Habib, Mehroban and a child were wounded.

Body found in Naseerabad
DERA MURAD JAMALI: The Levies force recovered a bullet-riddled body here on Monday. The dead was identified as Abdul Ghaffar and bore bullet wounds.

Man kills wife, paramour

SUKKUR: A man killed his wife and her alleged paramour in village Nasir Khan Jamali in Osta Muhammad on Monday. Sources said Ghous Bakhsh Langah shot dead his wife Zeenat Khatoon and her alleged paramour Maula Bakhsh Pahoor.

Woman killed near Sibi
QUETTA: A woman was killed and two others were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned in Pinjra Pul area of Dhadar near Sibi here on Monday. Sources said due to over speeding the driver lost control over the vehicle.
