ISLAMABAD: Amid rising political temperature and the rumours of change, President Asif Ali Zardari summoned a meeting of the PPP parliamentarians from both the houses of the Parliament today (Monday) to devise a parliamentary strategy in view of the emerging political scenario.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will jointly chair the meeting. The meeting is significant, as it will take place after the Supreme Court proceedings on the NRO verdict implementation case on Monday morning.
According to sources, the main agenda of the meeting is to discuss the political situation in the country. However, sources indicated that the parliamentary party of both the houses of the Parliament — National Assembly and Senate — would adopt a resolution expressing confidence in President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Sources said the issue of resignations of the NRO ministers would also be discussed in the meeting. President Zardari had already taken the top policy forum of the CEC into confidence in this regard.
