MINGORA: Traders staged a protest rally at Barikot tehsil in Swat district on Monday against the US President Donald Trump’s announcement of recognizing occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Led by Barikot bazaar president Mirajuddin Tanha, Tehsil Councillor Fazal Akbar Khan and Muhammad Sher Khan, the protesters were carrying banners and placards. They chanted slogans against the US and Israel. They walked through various areas and burnt an effigy of Donald Trump.

Speaking on the occasion, the protesters said the Trump’s decision of accepting Al-Quds as Israel capital had hurt sentiments of the Muslims across the globe.
