CM orders drive against cattle thieves

PUNJAB Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that cattle-theft has now become an organized business which will not be tolerated at any cost.
The CM was presiding over a high-level meeting. The CM directed authorities to launch a campaign for eradication of cattle-theft throughout the province. He sought a briefing on campaign outcome in four weeks.
The CM said three special task forces have also been constituted to curbing cattle-theft. He said cattle-theft should be curbed at all costs. He said district police officer will be held responsible for incidents of cattle-theft in large numbers. He said he will preside monthly meeting to review measures taken to curb cattle-theft and the chief secretary will hold meeting fortnightly meeting. He also directed to ensure the provision of water at the tail end of canals besides checking water-theft. Inspector General Police Tariq Saleem Dogar informed the Chief Minister regarding measures taken to curb cattle-theft.

In a message on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi, the CM said the City State of Madina established by Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) has the perpetual status of the first-ever welfare state in the history of humankind where all strata of society, including minorities, were given equal rights to live a respectable life. “We should whole heartedly follow the way of life Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) lived throughout his physical presence in this world and should fulfil our obligation to maintain unity and brotherhood in our ranks as enshrined in Islam by setting aside petty differences,” he said. He said that “Uswa-e-Hasana” was the role model for all Muslims and we should work honesty for the progress and prosperity of Islami Jamhooria Pakistan in line with the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). This is the only way to achieve success in life and the afterlife, he added. The CM said the holy life of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) remains the ultimate source of guidance to whole mankind for all times to come and the Muslims should particularly follow “Uswa-e-Hasana” in letter and spirit. He said there could be a renaissance if Muslims followed the way of life the Prophet (PBUH) lived. He said the best way of paying tributes to the Prophet of Islam was to act upon the “Seerat-e-Tayyaba”. Islam was the religion of peace, brotherhood, tolerance and moderation which emphasises the respect of humanity to the highest degree, he said.
