GCU orientation ceremony

LAHORE THE Government College University (GCU) Thursday organised an orientation ceremony for the newly admitted students of MPhil and MS to apprise them about the university’s academic culture, historical perspective and educational ambiance at Bokhari Auditorium. Addressing the ceremony, GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Aftab laid a stress on quality learning, rational and critical thinking and cultural values. He advised the students to acquire the best knowledge, telling that “the reward was always going to be proportionate to your efforts.” Later, the heads of different academic departments told the students about the objectives and working of their departments. Registrar GCU Sahibzada Faisal Khurshid, Dean of Sciences and Technology Dr. Amin-ul-Haq, Dean Faculty of Arts and all the faculty members and administrative staff of the university were also present. reference: The Government College University (GCU) on Thursday arranged a condolence reference for noted Urdu poet, critic and intellectual Dr Waheed Qureshi. According to a press statement the university faculty members passed a resolution, highlighting the services of Dr Waheed for Urdu literature and the Government College University, Lahore, stating that Pakistan and Urdu had lost a great educationist, researcher and teacher. They also offered Fateha for the departed soul.
