Lawyers to boycott courts today

The legal representatives will boycott court proceedings on Wednesday in protest against the Karachi massacre that took place two years back on May 12, 2007, on the arrival of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikahr Choudhry, who was stopped by the provincial administration from entering the city.
The legal fraternity of the entire country observed a black day and boycotted court proceedings on the call given by the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association on Tuesday, while the lawyer community in Sindh will observe a black day and boycott courts proceedings on Wednesday, as the government declared holiday on the day.
Furthermore, ‘Reference’ of Pervez Akhter Kiyani will also be held at Shuda-e-Punjab Hall of Karachi Bar Association. A general body meeting will also be held.
The legal fraternity of the Malir Bar will also boycott court proceedings on Wednesday as on the day two years back, the miscreants also ransacked Malir Bar and set it ablaze.
