Two drown as car falls into pond

LALAMUSA: Two people drowned and as many others were injured when their car fell into a dirty water pond at Ali Chak on Thursday. Adnan Gulzar of Sarai Alamgir, Mubashir Shahzad, Muhammad Aqeel and policeman Afzal were going to Gujrat from Sarai Alamgir when their car fell into the pond due to overspeeding. As a result, Adnan drowned on the spot while Mubashir, Aqeel and Afzal fell unconscious. They were shifted to the different hospitals where Mubashir also died.
Stray bullet kills lad

LALAMUSA: A stray bullet killed a boy on Thursday.Reportedly, Iftikhar, son of Allah Ditta, of Kotli Shahjhanian, was hit by a stray bullet and was shifted to Trauma Center Lalamusa in a critical condition where he died.
SHOP GUTTED: A shop was gutted in a fire on Thursday.Reportedly, the shop of Naqi Shah on GT Road near Kulewaly Syedan caught a fire during the wee hours.Flames engulfed the shop and damaged its goods. The cause of the fire was not ascertained.
Norway team visit Dar ul Aman

LALAMUSA: A delegation of the Oslo Shelter Home of Norway visited the Gujrat Dar ul Aman on Thursday.The delegation was led by Nani and Salina. Its members talked to women of the Dar ul Aman.ADC Irfan Ali Kathia told the delegation that 595 women and 190 children are given protection this year in the centre.He said these people were brought here on the orders of different courts. He said 585 women out of 595 have been sent to their homes when their issues were settled with their family members.The ADC said at this time only four children out of 190 are in the centre.He said a foreigner woman also lived here.
