LAHORE: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday directed the director-general LDA and the director Technical to seek instructions and submit a report in a petition against the eviction of 24 Christian families.

Representing the petitioner families, Malik Muhammad Qayyum advocate contended that the Punjab chief minister had ordered compensation for the petitioners but his order was not complied with by the respondent department.

He submitted that the families were issued allotment letters of the alternative plots of three Marlas in the Khyber block of Allama Iqbal Town but the LDA was delaying implantation of these orders.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry while heading a three-members full bench comprising Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani and Justice Karamat Nazir Bhandari after hearing the counsel for the parties directed the DG, LDA and the director Technical to seek instructions and submit a report in the court by Monday next.
