BD woman jailed
June 16, 2006
NEWARK, New Jersey: A woman from Bangladesh was sentenced on Wednesday to 40 years in prison for slitting the throats of her two young stepchildren as revenge against their father. Sultana Haque, 33, claimed she was abused by her estranged husband, Jeff Haque, said Paul Loriquet, a spokesman for the Essex County prosecutor’s office. She pleaded guilty in April to killing Alstan Hague, 8, and his sister, Aisha, 5, while they were at a New Jersey apartment complex on March 29, 2003 for visitation with their father. The father was at work at the time and had left the children in the care of his second wife.
