Robbers deprive people of valuables

KARACHI: At least 85 Karachiites including three city journalists were deprived of their cash, jewellery, cell phones, vehicles and other valuables in various city localities.

Housebreakers looted cash, jewellery and other valuables from the house of Akhtar Khalid, in Frere police jurisdiction.

Zulfiqar Ansari was robbed of cash and gold ornaments when a group of five robbers intercepted him in Gizri police limits.

Ahmed, Asif Khan and Ghulam Fareed were deprived of cash, mobile phones and other valuables when armed robbers intercepted them individually in Ibrahim Hyderi, Sharea Noorjahan and Orangi Town police precincts.

Unidentified persons burgled a wine shop in Ibrahim Hyderi police limits and looted Rs9,000 and 260 bottles of foreign liquor.

Meanwhile, Qazi Ghulam Mohiuddin, a staffer of The News and Akhtar Khan, another journalist working in a local newspaper, were deprived of cash, mobile phones and other valuables when armed muggers intercepted them in Jamshed Quarters police jurisdiction, while they were waiting for public transport near Mazar-e-Quaid.

Sohaib Chughtai, a sub-editor in a news agency was deprived of his cell phone and cash when four armed bandits intercepted him in Buffer Zone locality.

Besides, more than 50 citizens of the metropolis were deprived of their mobile phones out of which 20 were snatched and 30 were reported stolen.

VEHICLES: At least 24 vehicles including 13 motorcycles were hijacked from various city localities.
