MANSEHRA: A man allegedly killed his three-month pregnant daughter-in-law and dumped the body in a deserted place in Nakot area of the district on Saturday, the police said.
“The body of a woman brutally killed by her father-in-law has been recovered from a deserted place, which was shifted to the hospital for autopsy,” Mohammad Javed, the station house officer of Khaki Police Station, told reporters.
He said that the deceased was identified by her father as Rukhtaj Bibi, 20. Javed said that according to the deceased’s father Mohammad Bilal, she was killed by her father-in-law Khan Zaman. He said that the police had shifted the body to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.
The station house officer also said the woman was first strangulated with a rope and then hammered that resulted her instant death. “We are yet to arrest the accused and unearth the exact cause behind the murder,” he added.
According to father of the victim, the husband was not present at home when his wife was killed.
