President approves Appellate Tribunals

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday approved the Prime Minister’s advice for nomination of two-judge each Appellate Tribunals for disposal of appeals against decisions of the Returning Officer rejecting, accepting nomination papers for bye-elections in the National Assembly Constituencies NA-153 Multan VI and NA-101 Gujranwala VII.

The President approved the Prime Minister’s advice for the nomination of Appellate Tribunals on separate summaries of the Election Commission of Pakistan. The Appellate Tribunal for bye-election in NA-153 comprises Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan and Justice Ibad ur Rehman Lodhi of the Lahore High Court while the Appellate Tribunal for bye-election in NA-101 comprises Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh and Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court.

The President has also approved a bill passed by the Senate of Pakistan about enhancing the wages of Unskilled Workers. The details of the bill are as under: “The Bill seeks to amend the schedule of Minimum Wages for Unskilled Workers Ordinance 1969 in order to enhance the rate of minimum wages for unskilled workers from Rs. 8000 to Rs. 13,000 per month in three stages i.e. Rs.10,000 per month with effect from 1st July 2013, Rs. 12,000 per month with effect from 1st July 2014 and Rs. 13,000 per month with effect from 1st July 2015 as has been announced by the Minister for Finance in his Budget Speech 2014-15.
