Elderly woman shot dead for Rs100,000

Two robbersshot dead an elderly woman on Thursdayforattempting to resist a mugging bidin Landhi.

According to police, the victim, 52-year-oldPerveen Naz, was shot and fatally wounded outside her residence inLandhi No6 by two men who had likely followed her from a bank in Kharadarwhere she had just withdrawn Rs100,000.

Officials said Perveen was waiting for a family member to open the gate when thekillers confronted her and demanded the money. Upon her refusal, the murderers shot her multiple times at close range and made off with her money.

Though her family rushed her to theJinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Perveen succumbed to her injuriesen route.

Two die in accidents

An unidentified man,who appeared to be 30-years-old,was killed when a speeding truckcrashed into his motorcyclenear New Sabzi Mandi on theSuper Highway.

The driver fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind. Police impounded the vehicleand tookthe deceased to ASH.

An unknown elderly man was killed when a hit-and-run vehicle ran him over near Safari Park onUniversity Road in the Mobina Town police jurisdiction, while he was crossing the road.
