When Louis Armstrong said, “Music is life itself” he wasn’t wrong. Sometimes, music is the only medicine the heart and soul needs to heal its wounds. No one can understand this better than the brains behind Bisconni Music.
Last year, in 2021, Bisconni Music took Pakistan’s music scene by storm by introducing the country to a myriad of iconic artists and songs. This year, it planned to go above and beyond by capturing the hearts of its viewers via beautiful collaborations and aspiring artists.
Season 2 features artists like Aima Baig, Asrar Shah, Raafay Israr, Amanat Ali, Maria Unera, Asim Azhar, and Kashmir. The first song, “Tu Mera Na Hua” by Aima Baig was a musical sensation that healed the pain of unrequited love with her melodious voice and was a hit over social media.
The second song was “Malang” which was sung by Asrar Shah, and was a fusion of Sufism and Eastern Traditional music. The powerful performance not only proved to be a hit, but the strong vocals of Asrar Shah mesmerized the audience.
“Ranjha” by Producer Raafay Israr, was a soulful hip hop number with Punjabi beats and endearing lyrics while ‘Yaadein’ by Kashmir and Mai Dhai was a perfect fusion number that beautifully mixed two strong and very opposite voices to create magic. Dharkanen by Amanat Ali and Maria Unera was the disco number with its groovy tunes. The season ended with Asim Azhar’s popular pop-funk love song ‘Pul Ja’ that without a doubt was an audience favourite.
The Pakistani industry is full of talent and Bisconni Music is dedicated to providing them with a platform that encourages and hones their talents. The aim of the platform is to bring talented artists to the spotlight and give them the creative liberty to produce what their heart desires.
Adding to this Senior General Manager - Marketing, Sales and Business Strategy at Bisconni, Sabir Godil said, "To us at Bisconni Music, joy is synonymous to music, so from the start of the platform, our aim was to bring reasons of happiness to consumers. We wanted the new generation of Pakistan to experience a wave of freshness, so they have music from their own times instead of just remixes and I feel we have really achieved to do that with our incredible lineup of artists, and songs that have made it to the top of the chart."
Last year’s season was produced by Saad Hayat, and featured numerous artists, such as Haroon Shahid, Shuja Haider, Natasha Humera, and bands like Sajid & Zeeshan, as well as Mirage. With season 2 surpassing expectations, we can only be excited for next year’s season 3!
