Speeding truck runs over 12-year-old

A 12-year-old boy was among four people who died in different mishaps in the city on Thursday.

The boy was crushed to death by a truck as he was attempting to cross a road in Liquatabad No 2. The victim died on the spot and the driver abandoned his vehicle to flee on foot. Though he was yet to be traced till the filing of this report, a mob destroyed the truck and set it ablaze before police reached the spot.

The boy’s body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

In Nazimabad police limits, 20-year-old Abdul Nasir died and his 22-year-old friend, Azam Khan, suffered injuries as their motorcycle slipped in the Nazimabad No 7 area. In the same area, a 30-year-old woman was run over by a speeding vehicle.

In Korangi Industrial Area, 35-year-old Riaz died of electric shock at a factory near Godown Chowrangi. In Saddar police limits, the body of an unidentified 30-year-old man was found from a pond near the Pir Bukhari Shah Shrine located in the Kala Pul area.
