The officials of Education Fund for Sindh (EFS) and Zindagi Trust signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday. In a statement it said that the EFS will train teachers of government schools affiliated with Zindagi Trust on its early grade assessment (EGA), to help them track progress of students. The training includes delivery of assessment and marking scheme, along with other relevant manuals and handouts to teachers. Speaking on the occasion, the chief executive officer of EFS, Khawaja Adeel Aslam, said Zindagi Trust was playing a vital role in improving quality of education by reforming public schools. “In view of maximising the learning potentials of students, the collaboration would bring fruitful results in the field of research and education by using the EGA system,” he said. Brig (r) Abdul Haque, the chief executive of Zindagi Trust said that his organisation envisions transforming government schools. “The system training will improve the teaching and learning environment,” he said. “The EFS efforts to provide access to quality education are commendable. We are hopeful that with their support we can create a base of trained teachers who will use EGA to improve student learning.”
