Two killed, 13 arrested in 54 operations by CTD Punjab

LAHORE: After the recent wave of terrorism across country particularly targeted-killing of the police officials, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Punjab has conducted the intelligence-based operations across the province to avert any untoward incident in future.

During the past seven days, the CTD Punjab has carried out 54 IBOs in different districts of the province, in which 59 suspects were detained to interrogate, while 02 alleged criminals of Laddi gang were killed and 13 were arrested. Reports said on a tip-off the CTD police conducted an operation, in which two alleged criminals of Laddi gang, identified as Khuda Bakhsh alias Khudi s/o Qaisar and Muhammad Ismail s/o Bilal were killed. Detail of recoveries is as under: 02 Kalashnikovs. 2) Muhammad Umar s/o Bashir Ahmad arrested from Chiniot.

They said one of the criminal had created a WhatsApp group “Khudam Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamat Chak-10”, where he had been advertising defunct organisation SSP’s agendas and posted sectarian materials. In another operation, Sahibzada Sultan Mehmood Qadri s/o Muhammad Mehmood Qadri was arrested from Gujrat, told to be belonged to the defunct TLP and had been advertising TLP propaganda materials through distributing pamphlets and collection sacrificial hides without NOC. While, Abdul Latif Gakhar s/o Soba was arrested from Rawalpindi, belonged to the defunct TLP and he was enlisted in 4th schedule. He was also involved in collection of sacrificial hides without NOC.
