LAHORE : Nishtar Colony investigation police arrested a schoolboy for raping a girl student of class three at school on June 22, 2021.
The accused, Joel Khadim, and the victim studied in the same school. The victim identified the accused. The medical report found the victim to have been abused. She was raped at her school. The case will be settled in the light of facts by getting the DNA of the accused, police said. A case of child abuse was registered in Nishtar Colony police station on the complaint of victim’s father Shehzad Masih.
Youth gunned down : A 26-year-old youth was killed in Imamia Colony on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Hassan, was shot at and wounded by unidentified persons. He was admitted to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The body was removed to morgue.
Two robbers held: Police claimed to have arrested two robbers in the Shadbagh area on Saturday.
The arrested accused have been identified as Abu Bakar and Bilal. They were on their way back after snatching cash from a citizen when police caught them. A pistol was also seized from their possession.
Police station inspected: SSP Operations visited Mughalpura police station on Friday night.
He inspected front desk, reporting room and other sections. He met people at the police station and issued orders for immediate solutions of their problems.
Robber killed in shootout with police in Manga area: Three citizens were injured by robbers on resistance and one of the robbers was killed during a shootout with police in Manga Mandi area here on Saturday.
The robber was killed in the firing by his own accomplices. As per victim Shahzad, a resident of Khayaban-e-Iqbal Scheme Imambargah Wala Road, Manga Mandi, he along with his wife and children was asleep when six armed robbers entered his house by scaling over the walls and made him and his family hostage at gunpoint. The robbers conducted through search of the house and collected Rs 80,000 and 4 cellphones. Four robbers took Shahzad to the doorsteps of his next door neighbor Shahbaz Hussain after leaving behind two accomplices on the vigil of Shahzad’s family.
Upon being knocked, Shahbaz opened the door and the robbers managed to make their forced entry into his house. The robbers held Shahbaz, his two sons Ali Haider and Zeeshan and other house inmates hostage at gunpoint and started looting cash and valuables.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz and his two sons offered resistance and tried to overpower the armed robbers. Upon which, one of the four robbers opened firing, as a result Shahbaz got a bullet wound on his left finger. The robbers also injured both the brothers Ali and Zeeshan with kicks, fists and gun butts. Salma Bibi, wife of Shahbaz, secretly informed 15 about the presence of the armed robbers. The robbers opened indiscriminate firing after spotting the cops who also retaliated in the same fashion.
A robber was killed in the firing by his own accomplices. The five robbers escaped leaving their accomplice behind the scene. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.
Drug peddlers arrested: Police arrested 1,012 drug peddlers and registered 994 FIRs in different police stations during the month of June.
At least 172 FIRs were registered by City Division police, 247 by Cantt Division, 87 by Civil Lines, 181 by Sadr, 132 by Iqbal Town and 175 FIRs were registered by Model Town Division.
Police recovered 4kg heroin, 391kg charas, 10kg ice, 63kg opium and 10453 litres of liquor from the arrested criminals.
Girl abducted: A 17-year-old girl was abducted in Mozang here on Saturday.
Victim’s mother was sick. She left her house to buy medicines for her from a nearby store. However, she was intercepted by suspects riding a car without a number-plate. The suspects abducted her. A case has been registered but police are yet to find trace of the victim.
