Pakistan, Brazil agree to promote literary ties

Islamabad: A 'dialogue on literary cooperation' was held between the Pakistan Academy of Letters and Brazilian Academy of Letters here on the PAL premises.

PAL chairman Dr Yousuf Khushk, Pakistan's Ambassador to Brazil Dr Ahmad Hussain Dayo and Brazilian Academy of Letters president Dr Marco Luccheci participated in the event.

Dr Yousuf Khushk said it was a joyful moment for the writers of Pakistan and Brazil that like the golden friendship in politics, economics, trade and defence, the two countries were formally beginning literary ties as well.

Dr Marco Luccheci said his heart felt very happy with his country's literary initiative with the land of poets Allama Iqbal, Sultan Baho, Shah Latif, Rehman Baba and Bulleh Shah.

He showed interest in the signing of MoU with the PAL for literary projects.
