RDA panel scrutinises Rs2,379m budget 2021-22

RAWALPINDI: The Finance Sub-Committee of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) met here on Tuesday to scrutinize the annual budget for fiscal year 2021-22.

Director General RDA chaired the committee — comprising the Finance Department, P&D Department and HUD & PHE Department, says a press release.

The total outlay of the budget is Rs2,379 million. The major portion [Rs1984 million of the budget has been allocated for the ongoing and new development schemes.

The ongoing development schemes include construction/widening and improvement of Dry Port Road from Rahimabad Flyover at the Airport Road to Welfare Complex via Chaklala Railway Station Shell Depot at the estimated cost of Rs50 million and construction of a pedestrian bridge at the Airport Rawalpindi at the expected cost of Rs69 million.

The new development schemes include land acquisition for construction of Lai Expressway and Flood Channel [Rs20 million], remodeling of Kutcheri Chowk [Rs300 million], remodeling of Defense Chowk [Rs300 million], establishment of PMU for construction of Lai Nullah Expressway and Urban Regeneration Plan along Lai Nullah (Rs20 million).

The income target for FY 2021-22 has been set at Rs433.325 million and the RDA has achieved recovery targets for FY 2020-21.

An amount of Rs395.001 million has been allocated for non-development expenditures.

Asif Mahmood Janjua, Director Admin & Finance; Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhatti, Deputy Director Finance; and the representative of Finance Department, HUD&PHED and P&D attended the meeting.
