PESHAWAR: An awareness campaign and training sessions on KP tourism sector COVID SOPs is underway in various parts of the province under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development Project (KITE).
A spokesman for the provincial government said KITE arranges special training on implementing COVID SOPs in the tourism sector for tourist handlers, hotel staff and government officials in Swat, Naran (Mansehra), Abbottabad, Chitral, Upper Dir and Peshawar. Hotels staff, officials of district administration, Rescue 1122 and others.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Department is also taking measures to implement the SOPs in letter and spirit to ensure safe tourism from coronavirus in the province, stated KITE Project Director Tauseef Khalid. He added that the hotel staff, officials of the district administration, Rescue 1122, travel and tour operators and others were being imparted training on adopting COVID SOPs and other safety steps against coronavirus.
He said the KP Tourism and Archaeology Department welcomed tourists to the scenic spots of KP after the government lifted restrictions on tourism related activities and ended lockdown at the tourist resorts.
