A labourer was shot dead on Thursday inside his house in Yousuf Goth near the Super Highway within the jurisdiction of Site Superhighway police station.
The body of 56-year-old Fazal Nawab, son of Shamzai, was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital from his residence in Yousuf Goth. Police said the man was shot and killed in front of his wife and children. According to SHO Gulzar Tunion, the deceased was a labourer by profession and belonged to the Pashtun community. He said suspects who killed the victim hailed from the rural areas of Sindh and they were former neighbours of the victim in Karachi.
Police recovered 25 empty shells of a 30bore pistol from the crime scene and sent them to the forensic division of the Sindh police for ballistics cross-matching. Police suspect that the incident took place over a personal enmity and further investigations are under way.
