Islamabad : The Pakistan Medical Council (PMC), the regulator for medical and dental education in the country has said the structure and syllabus of the next Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) is ready for approval.
“The National Medical and Dental Academic Board has finalised the MDCAT 2021 structure and syllabus and forwarded it to the council for approval," PMC secretary Dr. Shaista Zeeshan said.
According to her, the council, the top decision-making body at the PMC will meet tomorrow (June 4) for approving the MDCAT structure and syllabus.
PMC President Dr Arshad Taqi thanked the Academic Board for its 'dedication and commitment' towards improving the standards of medical and dental education in the country.
Though the MDCAT schedule hasn't been announced yet, it is likely to be held in August this year.
Under the plans, the PMC will hold the MCQ-based MDCAT, whose results will be shown within 30 minutes of its completion.
The students wanting to get admission to MBBS or BDS programmes will have to sit this test. Almost all public and private sector medical colleges offer admission on the basis of MDCAT score.
