Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrated across KP, Fata

PESHAWAR: The Eid Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated with religious fervour across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas on Thursday. In the provincial capital, the main procession was brought out from Milad Chowk in the interior city just after the Isha prayer.

The procession was led by leaders of Anjuman-e-Tableeghul Islam and others. Prominent among those leading the procession were Pir Syed Noorul Hasnain Gilani popularly known as Agha Jee, PPP leader Syed Zahir Ali Shah and others.

The procession passed through its traditional routes Hashtnagri, Karimpura, Gantagar, Chowk Yadgar, Peepal Mandi, Qissa Khwani and culminated at the Kabuli Gate late Thursday night. The participants reciting naats to express their love for the Holy Prophet (SAW).

In the morning, a Milad congregation was arranged at the Milad House in Gulbahar. Pir Syed Inayat Ali Shah had organised the programme, which was addressed by scholars. Food was also served to a huge number of people, who participated in the programme.Inayat Shah had made enough publicity for the event, by affixing large banners with his photo on many hoardings on all the main roads of the city.

Another even was arranged at Wadpaga village near here. A big procession was brought out from the shrine of Ghazi Fateh Shah Bukhari after Zuhar prayer. The procession after passing through the whole village reached again to the shrine, where a public meeting was held.

Apart from the Muslims, the minority communities also celebrated the Eid Milad-un-Nabi. They arranged an event at the Archives Hall to observe the birthday of the Holy Prophet (SAW). The ceremony was addressed by member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and leader of the Sikh community Suran Singh, Hindu leader Sarab Dayal, Christian representative Ghulam Shaukat Advocate, noted Muslim scholar Dr Qibla Ayaz and others.

The speakers on the occasion said that all the religions were based on the teachings of love and peace. They said that promotion of interfaith harmony was the most urgent need of the time. They said that Islam teaches love and peace.

All the major buildings of the provincial metropolis had been beautifully illuminated to show love with the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him).

Strict security arrangements had been made to avert any untoward happening on the day. As many as 4000 police personnel had been deployed in different parts of the city to ensure security. Closed-circuit cameras and walk-through-gates had been installed on the routs used for the Milad processions.

NOWSHERA: The Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH)) was celebrated with religious zeal and fervour in the district.

Various gatherings were held while processions were taken out to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). The central procession in this regard was taken out from Manki Sharif, which reached the Iqbal Park in Nowshera Cantonment where a procession of Anjuman-e-Milad-i- Mustafa (SAW) also joined it.

Pirzada Nabi Amin Maulana Younus Muhammad Saleem Cheema was leading the procession. The speakers urged the government to enforce Islamic laws in the country.

MINGORA: Leader of the Ahle Sunnat-Wal-Jammat (ASWJ) Alama Pir Said on Thursday said the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was a role model for the Muslims.

He was speaking at a function organised in connection with the Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) at Wadoodia Hall in Mingora.

The speakers demanded immediate release of Mumtaz Qadri, who has been handed down death sentence for killing the former governor of Punjab Salman Taseer, who according to them, had committed blasphemy.

CHARSADDA: Member National Assembly Maulana Syed Gohar Shah on Thursday said that religious seminaries had nothing to do with militancy but anti-Islam forces were making the futile effort to link Islam with extremism.

He said the Muslims must have to prove by their actions and deeds that they are not terrorists. He was speaking at a function organised to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) here.

LAKKI MARWAT: The 12th of Rabiul Awal was celebrated with religious fervor in the district on Thursday. Local police and district administration had made foolproof security arrangements for Milad processions and gatherings.
