The International Islamic University (IIU) and Riphah International University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to conduct international conference on Islamic business, and work together for establishing a framework for promoting business education in the light of Islamic principles.
The MoU will be materialised by the International Institute of Islamic Economics (IIIE) of IIU and Riphah Centre of Islamic Business (RCIB) under the banner of signed MoU.
The MoU was signed by IIU President Professor Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh and Riphah University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad. Directors of economic institutes Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Yasin and Dr. Muhammad Ayub of both sides were also present on the occasion.
Under the MoU, both universities would work for dissemination of knowledge in the fields of economics, business, banking and finance. Both sides also agreed on bilateral academic interchange with active engagement of academicians and create awareness among the general public about Islamic banking and finance. Both institutions vowed to organize conferences, seminars and public awareness programs with mutual interaction between the officials and academicians, while a detailed program for arrangement of joint 4th conference on Islamic business was also discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Al-Draiweesh suggested that a consortium of Islamic universities be establish with the help of both universities which would work for promotion of Islamic banking, its awareness and cooperation. He said that IIU doors are open for cooperation with all the educational institutions of world and IIU is keen to disseminate the Islam’s message of peace and moderation by creating linkages with national and international institutions.
