The Inter-university Consortium in collaboration with the Quaid-i-Azam University Alumni, organised a reception in honour of vice chancellors here on Friday.
The vice chancellors including Professor Dr. Rukhsana Jabeen, VC Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Balochistan; Professor Dr. Tahir Amin, VC of the Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan; Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, VC of the University of Education, Lahore, and a number of diplomats from different countries attended the event.
The idea of organising the reception was to honour newly-appointed VCs and also to develop links between universities and the diplomats who are keen to work on education in Pakistan.
While talking to ‘The News,’ Dr. Haroon Rashid, pro-rector of the Comsats, said that it is good to honour new VCs. He said such type of events would help universities to develop links with diplomats who are working on education in Pakistan.
Professor Dr. Rukhsana Jabeen, VC of the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Balochistan, said that the idea to invite diplomats to such events is really good as it would not only develop links, but also help promote the soft image of Pakistan.
