RAWALPINDI: Special Court Taxation and Customs once again could not frame charges against supermodel Ayyan Ali in the money laundering case on Thursday.
Ayyan failed to appear before Judge Rana Aftab Ahmed for indictment after her acquittal plea was dismissed. The model’s counsel requested the court to exempt his client from appearance, as she was sick. He also furnished a medical certificate with the judge.
The judge remarked that the doctor who had issued the certificate belonged to Karachi and it would be difficult to summon him if need be. The court ordered Ayyan to appear on the next hearing and adjourned the hearing till November 19.
Meanwhile, a plea was also filed with the court seeking return of the supermodel’s passport. It was prayed that Ayan had to go abroad on an important visit, therefore, the passport should be returned to her.
The supermodel Thursday challenged the trial court’s decision in the Lahore High Court (LHC) for dismissing her acquittal plea. He counsel Sardar Latif Khosa filed the plea. The court admitted the plea and adjourned hearing till Friday (today).
