LANDIKOTAL: A one-year-old girl in Kam Shalman area of Landikotal tehsil was tested positive for polio, health officials said on Saturday.
Dr Sher Amin, communication officer for polio programme in Khyber Agency, told The News by phone that after the required medical tests in Islamabad, they declared Rimla Bibi to be polio-infected.
He said eight polio cases in Khyber Agency have been registered so far.
Agency Surgeon Dr Niaz Muhammad told reporters that the mother of the infected girl had refused to vaccinate her daughter against polio.
