MARDAN: Families from two areas of the Mardan district hit by the October 26 quake were provided relief items here on Tuesday. A social welfare organisation Al-Huda Welfare Foundation had arranged a relief camp at Garhi Daulatzai to hand over the relief. The camp was held in collaboration with the Mashaal Welfare Organisation. The relief packages consisting of food and none-food items were provided to a total of 50 quake-affected families of Garhi Daulatzai and Bat Seri. The organisers said the deserving people were selected through a comprehensive and coordinated survey. Tokens were distributed among the people to select the deserving people. The representatives of the Al-Huda Welfare Organisation, including Qari Abdur Razaq, Abdul Wajid, Asif Khan and office-bearers of the Mashaal Welfare Organisation, Muhammad Ali Amazai, Umrad Khan, Jamiulllah and Zawar distributed the packages among the people. Each package had flour, ghee, mattress and quilt. Local elders Gulshad Bacha, Sabitkhel, Hazrat Ali Yousafzai, councillors Akhtar Khan, Jamil Khan, Zuber Khan, Meer Wali, Khairul Amin and Noorshed Khan were also present on the occasion. Those who received the packages thanked both the welfare bodies for providing them relief in this hour of need.
