Islamabad: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) National Puppet Theatre (NPT) is carrying on its services to entertain and educate the children through puppetry.
National puppet theatre has numerous puppets which are hand made by the apprentices of NPT and this section has trained many groups to promote the art of puppetry at home and in remote areas of the country.
According to an official of PNCA the puppet shows was a regular feature of the Council. The objective to organise these shows is to educate children beside providing entertainment as the adults gain knowledge and inspiration from the moral and historical stories acted out by puppets he added.
Many common social problems are highlighted in the shows in order to create awareness better civic sense and patriotism among the audience.
The team of NPT also holds shows every year to highlight important international events like Earthquake Victims Day, Kashmir Solidarity Day, Independence Day Celebrations, World Tourism Day and Universal Children Day.
