A command and control room equipped with CCTV cameras and a response force was inaugurated at the Clifton Board Cantonment’s Fire Station near Punjab Chowrangi on Saturday.
Karachi’s additional inspector general of police, Mushtaq Mehar, was with the chief guest at the launch ceremony. He, along with former city police chief Shahid Hayat, was received by President Voice of Karachi (VOK) Ali Manzoor.
Mehar appreciated all members of VOK, and said the police had pointed out 36 locations with the cooperation of the CPLC where the level of crime was high and Punjab Chowrangi was one of them. He said VOK had installed 32 CCTV cameras at Punjab Chowrangi, “now we are capable of handling many things in a better way”
