People deprived of cash, valuables, vehicles in 52 heists

RAWALPINDI: Street criminals made off in 52 hits with hundreds of thousands of rupees in cash, gold ornaments and valuables to the tune of millions of rupees, lifted 31 vehicles including 29 motorcycles and two cars from different spots of the city in one day binge, disclosed in daily crime data, compiled on the basis of first information reports lodged with the different police station of the Rawalpindi.

Twenty-nine motorcycles were lifted from the jurisdictions of City, Ganjmandi, Ratta Amral, Pir Wadhai, Waris Khan, Banni, New Town, Sadiqabad, Cantt; Morgah, Taxila, Sadar Wah, Mandra and Sadar Bairuni police stations, while two cars have been stolen from the territory of Sadiqabad and Ganjmandi police stations.

According to the total value of the stolen vehicles mentioned in the reports, was over Rs6 million, police sources said.

The 13 offences of mobile phone and purse snatching and shoplifting were occurred in the jurisdictions of Westridge, Civil Lines, Pir Wadahi, Taxila, Nasirabad, Ratta Amral and other 7 other police stations, the report said.

The street criminals hit 13 houses including a house of officer of a sensitive intelligence agency in Sadar Bairuni and took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuable worth over Rs1.5 million.

The police of relevant police stations have taken up the cases and started investigation to make headway to the gangsters active in and around the city.
