NOWSHERA: The district government on Tuesday approved more than Rs3.850 billion non-development budget for the fiscal year of 2015-16. The budget was approved in a meeting of the Nowshera District Council held with Assistant Director Local Government Sharafat Gul in the chair. All the members of the district council, deputy commissioner and heads of all the line departments attended the meeting.
The meeting unanimously approved the non-development budget. Some of the councillor piled up complaints about the performance of Education, Health and police departments and blasted the shortage of medicines, equipment and staff in schools and hospitals. They urged the government to change the rusty and broken pipes of the water supply system. District Nazim Liaqat Khattak assured the house to take up the issues with the chief minister.
