NOWSHERA: Two more suspected patients reported positive for the coronavirus in Nowshera on Monday raising the number of confirmed cases tally to 30 in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan, District Headquarters Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Shoaib, Qazi Medical Complex (QMC) Hospital Director Dr Arif Khan and District Health Officer Dr Gulman Shah told the media that they had sent swabs of Shaukat Khan, a resident of Shagai village in Nizampur, and Shahsawar Bibi, an under treatment woman patient at the QMC to the lab.
They said that both the patients were found positive for the viral infection hence the number of confirmed cases reached 30 in the district.The officials said that two patients had died of the coronavirus while as many recovered from the fast-spreading virus in the district.
They said that swabs of 26 doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff of QMC had also been sent to the laboratory for coronavirus test to ascertain the exact health condition of staff, fighting on the frontline in the prevailing corona pandemic.
Meanwhile, the administrative committees of Salih Khana, which is popularly known as little-London, and that of Kotli Kalaan in Nowshera, are voluntarily observing complete lockdown voluntarily in the areas to stop the spread of fast-travelling coronavirus.
The members of the committees and elders including Tawaf Gul, Abdul Qayyum, Papu Gul Khattak, Lal Baz Khattak and others are extending full cooperation to the local police and other departments in the voluntary lockdown so that residents could be saved from the viral disease.
