foodpanda gives monetary assistance to their riders’ fleet during Covid-19

KARACHI: A lockdown has been imposed in Sindh from 23 rd March, causing millions to stay indoors including daily wagers, during the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Considering the rise of COVID-19 cases across the country, organizations such as Pakistan’s largest food delivery platform, foodpanda, stands by its heroes during this difficult time, ensuring their health and safety during the outbreak of the pandemic.

For the first time in Pakistan, foodpanda has transferred earning assistance to fleets based in cities where the operations were halted. Amidst COVID-19, the food delivery platform ensures to create awareness about the virus amongst the heroes by constantly sending them educational messages and prompts to stay cautious.

Daily temperature checks at rider hubs have now become an integral part of a hero’s job, which he’ll have to update on his roadrunner app, before starting work. Also, to act as a safety measure a complete guide has been integrated on the foodpanda app to support contact less deliveries.

Ever since the outbreak, foodpanda has been giving hand sanitizers to their heroes on-board and continues to actively distribute face masks and gloves to both new and existing heroes. foodpanda kept the heroes motivated by paying them a higher amount of what they earned per order previously. ****
