Rawalpindi:Two robbers were arrested, one injured in cross firing with police, while another aide of the robbers fled, in a raid conducted by Banni Police station team at the hideout of robbers in New Phagwari area, on information of detainee robbers, here on Monday.
In cross firing, between robbers and police, one robber was injured while two others were arrested, meanwhile another aide of robbers succeed to ran away. SP Rawal Division stated that the dacoit gang on 21 March during an attempt of robbery in Scheme 2 of Banni Police station limits on resistance opened fire on two brothers, in which Umair Raoof was shot dead while Zubair Raoof is still in hospital with critical injuries.
CPO Rawalpindi DIG Muhammad Ahsan Younis while taking notice of the incident assigned SP Rawal and SDPO Waris Khan to arrest the dacoit gang. After police action, the injured dacoit was shifted to Holy Family Hospital for medical treatment while police also recovered arms from the detainee dacoits.
Later, on the instructions of SP Rawal, the area was cordoned to arrest the fleeing robber. As per SHO Banni Police station, the dacoits gang is reportedly accomplice in various robberies in the area.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police making crackdown on drug pushers held two drug dealers from the limits of Pirwadai Police station and Airport police station and also recovered more than 2kg of ‘Charas’ from their possession. In a crackdown on kite-sellers in different areas of Rawalpindi, thousands of kites and kite-strings were seized from kite-sellers in the limits of Rata Amral, Taxila and R.A Bazar.
