Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has warned the Sindh government that if it did not properly evolve a mechanism to distribute rations among the needy segments of society, people will take to the streets violating the lockdown regime.

He said this on Friday while talking to the media when Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani visited a ration distribution centre of the JI in Federal B Area. The JI leader told the commissioner that the government should come up with a ration distribution mechanism as soon as possible or else people would resort to rioting, which would not be easy for the government to control.

He said the government should not create such circumstances in which people start dying of hunger instead of coronavirus. The JI Karachi emir also informed the commissioner about various steps being taken by the party to distribute food items among the needy people.
