1,246 citizens held, 436 cases registered in nine days of lockdown regime

The police have arrested 1,264 citizens and registered 436 cases against the lockdown violators, with continuing their crackdown on the ninth day of the lockdown regime, according to the Karachi police spokesperson.

On the other hand, after visiting the south and east zones, Karachi Additional IG Ghulam Nabi Memon on Tuesday visited police pickets in the city’s west district. He was accompanied by west zone DIG Asim Qaimkhani, district west SSP Fida Hussain Janwari and district central SSP Arif Aslam Rao.

The Karachi police chief awarded cash prizes and issued certificates to the policemen deployed at the police pickets in all districts of the west zone for performing their duties at a difficult time.

Earlier on Sunday and Saturday, Memon visited police pickets in parts of south and east zones along with the zonal and district police chiefs of both the zones.

Moreover, south zone police chief DIG Sharjeel Kharal also visited different police pickets in parts of the south zone. He said the task force in the south zone would work under the supervision of the inspector Saleem Memon.

The task force would give inform the police personnel deployed at the police pickets in the south zone on a daily basis and would ensure the implementation of the orders issued by the Sindh government, the Sindh IGP and the Additional IG Karach, he said. East DIG Nouman Siddiqui along with district east SSP Tanvir Alam Odho also visited the police pickets in the east zone and awarded Gulshan-e-Iqbal SHO Ikhlaq Ahmed for performing a good job with cash prize and certificate.
