Eating the right foods is important for good health, but so is eating on a regular schedule. The National Sleep Foundation suggests:

* Eat breakfast shortly after you wake, even if you don’t feel hungry. When you wake up, your body is low on energy and needs refuelling. Opt for a protein-rich breakfast that includes whole grains.
* Skip huge meals in favour of smaller, more frequent meals that keep your blood sugar level throughout the day. It takes a lot of energy to digest a big meal, which is why you feel tired afterward.
* Drink plenty of water throughout the day, and watch caffeine consumption.
