Trust in unity

Benjamin Franklin said "Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late." We are a true example of it. Covid-19 surfaced in China in December last year and was soon declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. Now, it is a Damocles' sword hanging over the head of more than seven billion people around the globe. As usual, we could not foresee the catastrophic impact of Covid-19 and remained busy in merrymaking, enjoying memes on social media, totally oblivious of the danger that was to engulf us. With poor healthcare facilities in our country we should have been alert and prepared to tackle any critical situation.

We still have time to work on a war-footing. The first and foremost thing is cooperation by people. The more time they spend inside their home, the less chances of spreading the virus. Social distancing and exercising precautionary measures is a must. The atmosphere of uncertainty must be changed by a powerful electronic, social and print media. Volunteers should be recruited to train and educate people about the complications of the pandemic. With complete unity and motivation and a pragmatic approach we can defeat Covid-19. Pharma firms should manufacture PPEs on a large scale work round the clock to meet the urgently required quantity of personal protective equipment. World superpowers are struggling hard to handle the situation. Pakistan will InshaAllah control the situation with the joint efforts of the people and the government.
