Since the first notification about the lockdown, the home department has been making amendments in the lockdown orders every day, which range from changing the working hours of grocery stories to restrictions on movements and allowing essential services.

As the police have been directed by the home department to enforce its lockdown orders in letter and spirit, they continued to arrest people violating the lockdown orders on Saturday. A total of 28 people were arrested in this regard and 12 FIRs were registered.

After a new notification was issued by the home department on Saturday which reduced the timings of food shops by three hours and ordered them not to operate after 5pm, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar accordingly issued new directives to the provincial police force.

As the 5pm deadline ended, the law enforcers started patrolling the city roads and ordered the shopkeepers to close their shops. They also told the general public to return to their houses as soon as possible. However till the filing of this report, no arrests were made for violating the 5pm deadline.
