The book ‘Ganga to Pulwama: India’s False Flag Operation’ authored by Dr Junaid Ahmed and Ibnul Hasan Rizvi was launched at the Karachi Arts Council on Tuesday. The book is a research-based account of India’s campaigns to malign Pakistan since the 1971 hijacking of the Ganga plane to the 2019 Pulwama attack.

Must-read

Addressing the launch ceremony, Readers Club Chairperson Sabuha Khan said that from the title, the book may seem an anti-India narrative, but as one starts reading it, they find it interesting because the authors have also covered the problems within Pakistan and the challenges on the global front.

Sabuha said the book solves much of the confusion in one’s mind, and those who have an interest in politics, must read it. She said the book has mentioned facts and figures about Indian hostilities towards Pakistan with unbiased references, which help the people to discern and process their thoughts.

Sharing her review, she said the book sheds light on the Indian establishment’s acts committed at the behest of its governments against Pakistan, including the 2007 Samjhauta Express bombing, whose perpetrators never got punished.

She commented that Germany’s Adolf Hitler and Italy’s Benito Mussolini made the live through World War II, and the fanaticism of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a similar potential because of what his government was doing to Muslims in India.

Propaganda

Vice-Admiral (retd) Syed Arifullah Hussaini of the Pakistan Navy, who also reviewed the book, said India had always wanted to harm Pakistan, and the campaign intensified after the September 11 attacks. He said India even used the Discovery channel to run its propaganda against Pakistan.

He also said the book was launched at a time when the country was expecting another false flag operation courtesy of the statement of India’s government and military. He added that knowing your enemy can lead to victory in a war, and this book is helpful in understanding how India is engaging Pakistan on various battlegrounds.

However, Hussain pointed out, the tide had changed after the anti-Modi movement in India gained momentum, thanks to the unmasking of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s fascist and anti-Muslim agenda, and it was the right time to inform the people about the terrorism that India had been waging against Pakistan.

Flip side

The author Dr Ahmed said Pakistan has been dealing with a belligerent neighbour since its inception, yet it has been braving through. He added that no government in the past responded vigorously to the malicious campaign and kept on exhibiting an attitude of appeasement until the Pulwama attack.

He said that because of that, the Financial Action Task Force made the lives of Pakistanis difficult, and India won in engaging Pakistan on another front. He added that the book was an effort to tell the world about the flip side, which did not get much attention, unlike India’s propaganda.

Narrative

The author Rizvi said Muslims were arrested, tried and executed for attacking Muslims in India, but if someone attempted to highlight the Saffron Terror, they were put out of the way by the Indian establishment or Hindutva proponents.

Referring to the killing of Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Hemant Karkare, he asked why Pakistan would harm a person who was already fighting against the right-wing and nationalist terrorists in India. He said that yet people believed India because it propagated its narrative systematically.
