Police found the body of an unknown man in the elevator of a multi-storey residential building in North Nazimabad on Monday. According to police, the body was found on the eight floor of the 13-storey building located near the Matric Board Office.
Responding to information, police and rescuers reached the high-rise and transported the dead to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.
According to SHO Muzzafar Ali, the tragic mishap took place apparently on the night between Sunday and Monday, and it seemed the man was attempting to enter the elevator through the maintenance area on the rooftop when someone ran the elevator, causing him to fatally fall to the eighth floor. The officer said the deceased was yet to be identified, while the police had asked the building union to provide them CCTV footage so they could ascertain how the man fell and died.
