Corps Commander visits CGH

Rawalpindi : Corps Commander Rawal­pindi, Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas along with Director General, Military Lands and Cantonments, Major General Hasnat Amir Gilani paid surprise visit to Cantonment General Hospital (CGH) on Friday.

During his visit to the CGH, the Corps Commander inspected work on uplift schemes being carried on for renovation of the hospital.

He was briefed that the entire work on ongoing development scheme was being done while maintaining international standard. In this connection, infection room has been safeguarded. The development schemes on which work is underway include Labor and Delivery, Gynae Operation Theater and Intensive Medical, Children Ward and Construction of Infants Nursery.

Prior to this Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas also took a round of the sections of already completed projects including 5 Operation Theater, Preventive Vaccine Center SSD, Laundry and CT Scan unit. During inspection, the corps commander also took round of wards and enquired after the health of patients admitted in CGH. He also held informal interaction with the doctors, para medical and other staff members related to their welfare.

While speaking on the occasion, the corps commander appreciated the efforts and struggle of Director, Military Lands and Cantonments, Fahim Zafar Khan, Cantonment Executive Officer, Rawalpindi, Sabtain Raza, Administrator CGH, Brig (r) Imran ul Haq and his team members with regard to renovation work being done on CGH and completion of other development schemes.

It merits to mention here with the allocation of Rs570 millions grant from federal govt, development schemes have been completed and more is being done for CGH renovation. At present 3 to 4 sections are functioning. He standard of CGH is being compared with other International level hospitals and hundreds of patients are benefiting from the better services being provided by this health institution.
