The advisory committee of the Sindh Culture Department met on Friday with chief secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah to discuss the proposal. Referring the proposal to the technical committee, the chief secretary directed them to submit the proposal in the next meeting of the advisory committee with details of geographic, historic and cultural background, and also the importance of this Institute, which was established in 1865 during the British Era.

“After the approval of the proposal by the advisory committee, it would be submitted to the provincial Cabinet,” the chief secretary said. “This is an important agenda and must be presented with full preparation, quoting the relevant rules,” he directed the secretary of the culture department. The meeting also discussed the matter of permission for the renovation work at the Homi Katrik Building, another historic structure.
