Six companies to set up industrial units at M-3 Industrial City

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) has granted the ‘Special Economic Zones Status’ to six companies for establishment of their industrial units at M-3 Industrial City near Sahianwala interchange here.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the company held here under chairmanship of FIEDMC chairman Mian Kashif Ashfaq, who told The News that the industrial units will be established in this ' Special Economic Zone ' and would be exempted from payment of customs duty on the import of machinery for their units and they will also enjoy 10 years income tax exemption.

He said six Chinese and local companies have shown their keen interest for setting-up industrial units in this special zone with an investment of Rs 31 billion. The category of these industrial units will consist of ceramics, dairy food products, home textiles, and different kinds of printing inks units. He expressed confidence that these units would help in eliminating imports of the relevant material and also help boost the exports from the country.

online home delivery service: The district administration Thursday established the second online home delivery ‘Drust Dam’ shop at D Ground in the People's Colony. The outlet would facilitate citizens in getting fruit, vegetables and other essential items by calling after checking prices of the items in the Drust Dam App. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali, Chairman PHA/MPA Latif Nazar jointly inaugurated the home delivery service from the office established at D Ground.

PTI leader Riaz Kamokane, AC Sadar and City Umar Maqbool and Zoha Shakir and other officers were also present. Residents of People's Colony No1, No 2, Madina Town, Khayaban Colony, Rasool Park, Akbar Colony, Shadman Colony, Satellite Town, Rachna Town, Darul Hassan Colony and Cream Town would get benefit from the service. The DC said the service is being extended to other populated areas of the city under the phased programme and the system will provide the people with one click at home. He said services were being provided to citizens from the point of view of the general bus stand point and similar fast speed online service would be provide from D Ground. He said the district administration was taking drastic steps for effective implementation of the price control mechanism and that the process of checking prices in markets and bazaars was continual process and the public complaints received from the Qemat Punjab app were also being expedited. He said at this point, the official price should be ensured to provide quality service to those who contact the app.

Chairman PHA Latif Nazar and Mohammad Riaz Kamoka described the Drust Dam app as a great convenience for the citizens. They said the present govt was focusing more on price control mechanism in this regard, including the provincial ministers, members of the assembly and senior govt. officials were also active in checking the prices of essential commodities in markets.

56 accused arrested in Faisalabad: On the directive of City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry, Faisalabad police organised several raids and arrested the accused. According to CPO spokesman Amer Waheed, police arrested 56 accused and recovered charas and other narcotics from their possession. Police also arrested over two dozen illegal weapon holders and recovered 15 guns, 5 Kalashnikovs, seven pistols from their possession. The police arrested several drug peddlers and recovered six kilogram charas and 236 litre liquor. The spokesman said police also arrested narcotics smuggler Aurang Zeb last night and recovered 50 kilogram charas from his car. Further investigation is under way.
