LAKKI MARWAT: Taking a serious notice of the sale of flour bags at expensive rate in the market, the district administration on Wednesday raided a flour mills in Serai Naurang tehsil and seized its record.
AC Nadir Shehzad said that after public complaints, a team headed by him conducted a raid on Sarfaraz Flour Mills in Serai Naurang and seized its record about the delivery of the 20 and 40 kilogram flour bags to the dealers in the market.
He said the owners of the mills were involved in selling the flour bag at expensive rate rather than the open market where the rate of 20 kilogram bag was Rs800 while they were selling at the rate of Rs1100 in the market after repackaging it.
He said that the malpractice had been continuing for the last two months and earned a huge profit in the practice. The official said that there was a difference in the record of the dealers and millers. He said that the official arrested a dealer who disclosed to have been asked by the millers to get 50 bags but show 200 bags in his record, adding, the dealer confessed that he had committed the malpractice 7-8 times.
